Idea #13 and #14

Idea #13 Sustainable Art

  1. What was your idea?
    1. I was looking at my desk and I saw my periodic table that I was not going to use anymore. So, instead of just throwing it away, I decided to make art out of recycled material, specifically elements of nature, such as a butterfly. I thought it was a cool idea to make art that could be reflected in nature since the periodic table has elements that are parallel to those of nature.
  2. What materials did you choose?
    1. I chose to use recycled paper and recycled pieces of card stock that I did not think I was going to touch until now.
  3. Do you think your piece was able to express your idea?
    1. Yes! I love how my artwork came out to look like. I even took photos of it outside in my backyard and it looked beautiful as the gold butterfly and the rose complemented the earthy green plants.
  4. How did your choice of materials influence the experience of your artwork?
    1. Using recycled paper made me feel great because I got to make art out of something that could have easily been thrown in the trash. It is amazing how we are able to put defected materials into use to make it functional again.
  5. How long should a kiss last?
    1. However long it needs to be until one is satisfied.
  6. How long should a great meal last?
    1. I wish a great meal could last forever because good food equals happy Andrea.
  7. How long should a work of art last?
    1. A work of art should last as long as a lifetime or forever. Art is beautiful and should be preserved here on this beautiful planet.
  8. How long should a marriage last?
    1. A marriage should last until the married couple is dead.
  9. How long should a human life last?
    1. A human life should last until able. Being old and alive seems like a struggle, but we all have to go through that in life and that is okay.
  10. Does the fact that some things, like ephemeral artworks and human lives, have a finite time and then are gone make a difference in the way we experience them?
    1. Yes, it teaches us to not take things for granted as tomorrow is never promised for anyone. The world seems like it is ending at the moment, but we need to make the most out of it because we do not know what the next moment will promise.
  11. Should other things, like clean water, air, and land be sustainable and long lasting?
    1. Yes, it is essential for our survival.
  12. Can one person, like you, make a difference in a global problem like Climate Change?
    1. Easily, I can make a difference in a global problem like Climate Change. Wether that be switching to sustainable shopping such as thrifting my clothes or reducing my carbon footprint by reducing the amount of times I have to go out and drive.

Idea #14 The Street is a Great Place for Art

I did not have spray paint accessible by hand so I decided to graffiti my name with some Crayola markers. I first sketched out my name with pencil and tried my best to do some bubble lettering. I then decided to add some shadows to give more off a graffiti effect to the letters. I honestly think it looks pretty cool, but I wish I had spray paint to make it look even better. I was a little disappointed that the shadowing looks a little bit off, but it is definitely a good touch to this art piece and adds some dimension to my name.
